As part of the Pan Global Faculty Initiative, The Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences was delighted to host Dr. Tilakaratne, Chair Professor of Oral Pathology at the Faculty of Dentistry, Peradeniya University, Sri Lanka from the 21st June to the 28th June 2015. Dr. Tilakaratne who is the President Elect of the International Association of Oral Pathologists is an authority on the subject of Oral cancer pre-cancer, Odontogenic Cysts and Tumors with specific interest in Oral Sub mucousFibrosis.

Dr. Tilakaratne interacted with the post-graduates and faculty of Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery through didactic lectures and interactive discussions.

Dr. Tilakaratne laid special emphasis on the need for original research and the methodologiesof researchwhen inaugurating the orientation day for the fresh batch of post-graduates.
