The fourth workshop on ‘Basic Life Support’ was organized at Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences; Virajpet on 5th December 2016. This workshop was organized by the department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, in association with IIEMS (Indian Institute of Emergency Medical service) Kottayam, branch accredited with AHA (American Heart Association).
It was a combination of video demonstrations, live demonstrations, lecture and Hands on training on mannequins. Management of life threatening emergencies providing CPR in adults, children and infants the use of AED and relieving of choking in an effective manner were demonstrated. The participants updated their knowledge and skills employed worldwide in Basic Life Support through this program.
An MOU was signed between Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences and IIEMS to continue the Basic and Advanced BLS training and required licenses to the faculty and students to practice Basic Life Support.
