SOLAR POWER PLANT, CIDS, VIRAJPET – 17TH JANUARY 2020

Coorg institute of Dental Sciences, Virajpet has made a big leap forward in its endeavors of environmental protection and energy conservation. A Solar Power Plant with a current capacity of 150kilo Watts of Peak power is set up as part of India’s Solar Mission Programme with Self Financing by Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences. The Solar Power Plant is expected to generate around 1,80,000 Units per year. The clean energy produced by Sun prevents pollution equivalent to preserving 2250 Trees annually. The Solar Power Plant is expected to cater almost 80% of the Dental College & Hospital’s needs while reducing burden on Grid Power.

The Solar Power Plant was inaugurated by Shri K.G. Bopaiah, MLA, Virajpet in the presence of Dr. Ganesh Shenoy and Shri Raghunandan of Amro Technologies.

The Solar Power plant is built using most advanced crystalline high efficiency Multi Crystalline Cell technology. The Solar Panels Generate power during day. The Energy produced is used by the institute and excess energy is exported to CESC Grid. An Array of High Efficiency String Inverters with MPPT Optimizer technology is used in converting DC Power into grid compatible AC Power. The clean power generation is expected to pay back in about six years while the excess power exported to grid will bring revenue up to Twenty five years. Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company has offered power Purchase Agreement for a period of Twenty Five Years. The Solar Power Plant was synchronized to the Grid by CESC Engineers of MT Division and O&M Division on 3rd January 2020. This Modern Technology Solar Power Plant is designed and Developed by Amro Technology, a Bangalore Based Pioneering enterprise who have specialized in Solar Power Plants for terrain areas.

The Solar Power Generation is monitored live through Mobile application which will let us know live data of power Generation parameters. Our Initiative of this Solar Power Plant will help us contribute significantly to environmental protection and clean energy utilization thereby ensuring our commitment to reduction of carbon emission. We thank efforts of Shri. Somashekar, Executive Engineer, Madikeri Division, CESC and Mr.Suresh, Assistant Executive Engineer, Virajpet Sub Division, CESC and Staff of CESC in extending all their help to install Solar Power Plant in our Campus said Dr. Sunil Muddaiah, Founding Dean, Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences Virajpet.
